From Dusk to nearly Dawn…The Paris Pop up in a day POSTED BY LTS Alice 09.30.11
The sun was shinning as the seven of us arrived in Paris via the Eurostar, minus the hassle of checking in or waiting around as we usually do when travelling by plane.
Upon arriving at the venue I met Didier, a lovely guy who is the president of Altitudes and organises the “salon des grands”. He kindly took me on a tour of the venue and showed me the two rooms we were going to use for the pop up.
Rush hour in Paris was mayhem causing our loading vans to be stuck in traffic…. however, this gave us the opportunity to have a cheeky glass of vino in the blazing heat before our four hour rush of unloading.
As the evening progressed, we suffered a few glitches, during set up the lift suddenly stopped working, and then as we got into the flow one of the laptops decided to pack in..oh the drama!!! But in usual LTS style the team spirit was high and the set was completed by 10pm.
Saturday morning and we arrived back at the venue for 8am to ensure everything was steamed, pinned, stacked and hung correctly before 10am. It was great to see so many tall women come and visit us, and although the rooms were small everyone was positive and excited to see LTS in Paris. Thanks to all the patient customers who waited in the queue for the till, and yes I can report that the queue did eventually go down…after 3 hours.
We started off with five changing rooms and to help ease the queuing our lovely Hannah quickly made a 6th by creating a make shift room from cardboard boxes in our denim area.
It is clear to say that the 50s is back with a bang. The glamorous Parisian ladies could not get enough of our very on trend trimmed fur coat and also our puffa jackets both of which we sold out of.
I would also like to thank the four lovely strong men who helped us carry all our stock and boxes down the stairs.
Paris, once again it was pleasure and we hope to see you soon!
