Our sponsored Rowers Anna Watkins and Katherine Grainger did it again and won gold at Munich earlier today!

Anna and Katherine remain  unbeaten in the women’s double scull since they teamed up in early 2010. Although with stiff competition from Australia who put in a fast time earlier in the week, they knew they had to push extra hard.

Watkins and Grainger were ahead of the field at 500m, with Australia in close contention and the 2009 world champions Poland in third.

At 1,500 the British duo were still ahead and had managed to  stretch their lead.

Looking strong they moved out to almost a length and looked determined to capitalise on their advantage.

Australia then started to stage a recovery and closed the gap on the British boat, but Watkins and Grainger held firm and crossed the line in 7:09.90, just under a length from Australia, with Poland taking bronze.
