This weekend sees the finale of the Samsung World Rowing Cup, which will take place in Munich, Germany, and excitement is at fever pitch. This is really the last test before the London 2012 Olympic Games, so it’s a hugely important event for the GB Rowing Teams, especially for our sponsored tall ladies, Anna Watkins and Katherine Grainger.

Anna and Katherine have excelled in the previous two Samsung World Rowing Cup events, which took place in Belgrade, Serbia and Lucerne, Switzerland respectively; now they just have to hold their own against some tough competition.

While there has been some shakiness among some of the male rowers – Olympic and World champion Zac Purchase disappointed audiences by finishing sixth in the men’s double scull – Anna and Katherine have been going from strength to strength, taking home gold medals consistently. We feel particularly proud that two such talented tall women are at the top of their game; not only among other female rowers, but among all rowers!

In fact, their selection for competition in Munich was positively uncontested, given that the pair have been unbeaten since they teamed up in 2010. Anna is a Beijing bronze medallist, and Katherine is a three-time Olympic silver medallist, so both are in prime position to take home gold in the London 2012 games – the fact that they both make fantastic tall clothing models is just a bonus!
