Whenever I encounter another tall woman while I'm out shopping I usually strike up a conversation about LTS and what they offer. Invariably, the subject of kitten heels comes up; everyone wants a collection of kitten heels. It's as if they were invented just for us! Perfect! Please, lots of kitten heels in future collections!
Heel Heights(19 posts)
Thank you for your comments. We have the Kitten Shoes which comes available in three different colours such as Black, Red and Cappuccino http://www.longtallsally.com/tall/shoes/heels/bow-front-kitten-heel/black?category=f-095_shoes.
We hope to add more kitten heels in our future collection.
The Kitten Shoes do not have kitten heels. The Kitten Shoes have 3-inch heels. True kitten heels are only about 1 1/2 inches high, and are found on a dress (court) shoe. Are you going to stock any? As I said in my original post, everyone wants lots of them, a true variety.
Yes, K Prince is so right! A 3 inch heel is NOT a kitten heel. I personally am not comfortable wearing a heel over 2-2.5 inches and I prefer a 1.5 so I would LOVE to see more shoes in these heel ranges as opposed to the 3 inch variety.
I like a higher heel usually. About a 10 cm is the heel I prefer.
Im in full agreement with 'kimmyintexas'. More 'wide' styles with lower heels. Im 6ft 2'' and don't really wish to be any taller, but would like to be fashionable.
Still, I know we're all different and all have different likes and expectations!
Kudos to those comfortable rocking 3+ inch heels, but I'm with the emerging majority in wanting 1.5 to 2 inches. Not interested in flats that make me walk like a duck, just a nice heel that makes me feel feminine and elegant, not teeter and tower unattractively.
Hell yes to the 2" kitten heel, sistas! Here's hoping LTS is listening...
We have in our spring collection the Quilted Leather Mid Heel Shoes in black and navy which are at 2 inches high. (http://www.longtallsally.com/tall/shoes/heels/quilted-leather-mid-heel/black). Also we have added court shoes which are at 1.5 inches which will be made available in the summer collection.
Thank you all for your comments. We hope to bring you more court shoes with mid heels in our future collections.
Nope; the Quilted Leather Mid Heel Shoes aren't what I'm looking for, though it sounds like the summer collection may have what I want.
I went surfing the internet and found these definitions (who would have thought this could get so difficult?!)
The height, shape & placement of the heel makes them kitten heels.
Definition: A kitten heel is a type of shoe with a thin-based, low heel (usually 1.5 inches or less) that is set in from the back of the shoe.
Especially popular on pumps, kitten heels can be found on many types of women's dress shoes. More than just being a low heel, what makes a kitten heel is the placement and feminine shape of the heel.
A kitten heel is a short, slender heel, usually from 3.5 centimeters (1.5 inches) to 5 centimeters (2 inches) high with a slight curve setting the heel in from the edge of the shoe. The style was popularized by Audrey Hepburn. It is particularly common on sandals. They are sometimes worn by women who are especially tall, who want the curve and sex appeal of a high heel, but not the added height.
A kitten heel is a stiletto heel of 5 centimeters or less in height; some are as low as 3 centimeters. They are classified as stiletto heels and despite their lack of height are generally classified as 'high heels' because of their sex appeal; particularly when teamed with a sharp pointed toe or long 'winklepicker' toe. This is an anomaly because a shoe with regular wide heels of 3.5 centimeters high would normally be considered a flat shoe; it is the addition of a stiletto heel, however short, that turns it into a sexual accessory.
Okay, I promise this is my last word on this subject! But please give us some kitten heels!
Completely agree, there is no way a 3inch heel could be considered a kitten heel. Personally I'd break my neck if I tried to wear 3 inch heels (that and probably keep hitting my head on things lol). Would love to see more kitten heels in future, as indicated in the last post, they are low enough to be comfortable, but have that shape that make a woman feel (and look) feminine - does wonders for the legs as well.
Wow that's a women that is passionate about kitten heels and I absolutely agree with you K Prince. I dont wear high heels and wouldnt even look at shoes that are higher than 1.5inch. I'm like bambi in flat shoes nevermind in 3 inches
Bring on true kitten heels please LTS.
Caution with this kitten heel request please! Thanks to K Prince for the definitions of a kitten heel. It's the fact the heel is not attached to the back of the shoe, but sits indented under the foot.
It was a short-lived fad several seasons back, and not one IMO that should be resurrected. These types of shoes are not attractive. Nor comfortable.
These heels don't do anything to the shape of a leg, and when you are not petite, they make you look tipsy and top-heavy.
I think what you are really asking for is to have normal-placed heels in a variety of heights.
I ditto the kitten or 1 1/2 or 2 inch heels! I would love to see more! They are hard to find! Thanks for listening LTS!
I agree on the 1 1/2 or 2 inch kitten heels ! (maybe even 2 1/2")
I would REALLY love to see size 10 1/2 too ! ! Even the cute bow Kitten heels that LTS referenced in this post do not come in size
They are SO hard to find !
I scan the LTS site eagerly each season hoping for shoes with low heels as at 6ft 1 I feel I am tall enough. Heck, I'm starting not to care what kind of heel it is (although I am a fan of kitten heels too!), just gimme heels 2 inches MAX please! PS Love the High Summer catalogue and have ordered 4 pieces.
Love High Summer items as well, have ordered already and more is on its way
As above I'm also looking for kitten heels 2 inces max. Please !
Embellished Espadrille Wedge Sandals or Bow Front Kitten Shoes would definately be nice and bought by me if lower heels.
Looking forward to Autumn/Winter shoes and boots.
The Salamar I have been in love with, just wished they had lower heels.
Hi, as the newly appointed shoe buyer for LTS, it is really interesting to hear all your constructive feedback. The Spring/Summer 2012 shoe range is currently in development, so it's great to hear about all your likes and dislikes when it comes to your footwear, and in particular the comments regarding heel heights! It sounds like you all know exactly what you want, so its up to us to give it to you!
We have a FAB selection of boots for the Autumn season which is just around the corner, but you'll have to wait a little longer to see the Spring 2012 range, I'm sure it won't disappoint!
Please keep the comments flowing…
Can I add my plea for lower but more feminin styles please? I too loved the lower kitten heel styles which were much more manageable for us tall girls. High heels may look elegant for some on the cat walks but there is no elegance in constantly having to duck to avoid the low ceilings frequently encountered in real life. I also like to kiss my husband on the mouth instead of on the top of his head
K Prince - that IS exactly what I want. I do not feel comfortable with high heels, if I could I would wear them, so the only option is the kitten heel - and as you describe they turn flattish shoes is something more feminine. Also I love pointed toes as my feet feel frumpy in round toes. Bring on the kittens!!
